Moon Yousif Sulfab, has been working in the United States Senate since August of 2000. He first worked as a Senate Contractor with Inter America technologies. During the 4 years with Inter America, Moon was an IT consultant supporting both Republican and Democratic offices including the Republican, and Democratic leaders at the time. In 2004, Moon Yousif Sulfab moved to another contract with General Dynamics, working as a Network Engineer for the Sergeant of Arms of the United States Senate.
As of January 2007 Moon Sulfab moved on to work with the office of the current Senate Republican Leader as the Administrator of IT Operations. From supporting and meeting the Republican leader’s office technical needs, Moon has been and currently working with both Republican, Democratic leadership, and The Sergeant of Arms CIO office to improve and enhance the United States Senate IT capabilities.
Moon is a currently the President of the Congressional Muslim Staff Association, and a member the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus. The Congressional Muslim Staff Association is made up of House and Senate Muslim American staffers. The 100-plus members of the Association focuses on policy analysis, education, networking and professional development regarding Muslim and Middles Eastern Affairs.
In 2010, Moon Yousif Sulfab became a founding member of the Congressional African Staffers Association, an organization that brings first generation African staffers who work on African policy initiatives, or have an interest in Africa. The association’s main goals are to promote a better understanding of African continent to Congressional members and their staffs in Congress.
Moon Yousif Sulfab is also affiliated with the International Center of Religion and Diplomacy Policy Forum. The International Center for Religion & Diplomacy (ICRD) is a Washington-based NGO that addresses identity-based conflicts which exceed the reach of traditional diplomacy by incorporating religion, culture and shared values as part of the solution.
Moon Yousif Sulfab holds a Degree in BS in Information Systems, and Master’s with honors (Delta Sigma) in Technology Management from Marymount University School of Business; he is currently a candidate for a Master in National and Security Studies at the Naval War College.
